A nine-year old Ethereum wallet (0xa95) has just transferred 1,250 ETH ($3.03M) into a Bitstamp deposit address. The move is the largest in a series of ETH transfers to centralized exchanges including a prior 1,210 ETH transfer to the same deposit address (0x547) and another 10 ETH transfer to Kraken in the last two months.
What makes this address interesting, however, is not the size of the transfer, but that the wallet was initially funded by the Ethereum Foundation, way back in November 2015, just four months after the launch of the Ethereum mainnet. The first transfer into this wallet was made on 17 November 2015, with a transfer of 51,251 ETH from the Ethereum Foundation wallet 0x5eD. The initial value of this trade at the time was just $51K. That same transfer would be worth $125M today.
