Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has expanded its Bitcoin treasury again, acquiring 1,665 BTC (142.7 million) while also repurchasing $152 million worth of its STRC perpetual preferred stock, according to an 8-K filing.

The transaction is the company’s latest balance-sheet move as it returns to regular Bitcoin purchases. Strategy bought the BTC at an average price of $85,681 per BTC, and funded it using proceeds from at-the-market sales of its Class A common stock, MSTR

    Treasury Growth

Following the purchase, Strategy now holds 847,666 BTC as of September 27, 2026. The treasury represents approximately 4.04% of Bitcoin’s fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins, further extending the company’s position as one of the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holders.

Strategy’s BTC stack was bought at an average price of $75,437 per bitcoin for a total cost of around $64 billion, including fees and expenses.

A tweet from Saylor also highlighted that Strategy now holds $6.02 billion in USD assets. The company has previously divided its dollar liquidity between a formal USD Reserve and a separately managed USD Cash facility, which can support Bitcoin purchases, dividends, debt payments, stock repurchases, and other treasury operations.

    STRC Buyback

Alongside the Bitcoin acquisition, Strategy repurchased $152 million of STRC. The STRC buyback was funded by sales of the common stock as well as $48.1 million from the company’s USD Cash facility.

The firm also used $22.1 million of its USD Reserve to fund the payment of dividends on its preferred stock during the same period. As of today, the USD Cash facility sits at $1 billion, and the USD Reserve facility sits at $5.02 billion.

The latest acquisition follows Strategy’s purchase of 950 BTC last week.

    Daily Dividends

This latest purchase has come after Strategy announced plans to move its preferred stock to a daily dividend system. This would mean that holders of STRC, STRF, STRD and STRK receive their dividend payments daily, not semi-monthly. The shareholder vote on this will take place on October 28th and, if successful, the first daily dividend will be paid to STRC holders on November 1st.
